Fish Tank
Infographics
THE TASK:
To design a series of infographic cards displaying encyclopedic data and information on certain tropical freshwater aquarium species. These were to be placed beside an educational tank at an OOSH care centre.
TECHNIQUE:
I based their design on animal encyclopedias, as well as including important information about each species. I highlighted the species’ names and image, and used soft colours
and flat design to allow the information to stand out.
THE TOOLS:
Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop.
Medication
Branding
THE TASK:
To design branding for ‘NasClear’ a range of allergy relief medication, including
three variations of the product.
TECHNIQUE:
I designed a unique yet simple logo that can be applied to the other styles
while still keeping the brand recognisable.
THE TOOLS:
Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop.
DG Magazine
Cover
THE TASK:
To create an illustrated cover page for DG Magazine, themed around
the style of a particular artist.
TECHNIQUE:
My design attempted to re-create Ligne claire, the syle pioneered by Georges
Remi, better known as Hergé — creator of The Adventures of Tintin series.
THE TOOLS:
Pencil and Paper, Artliner, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop.
Cafe/Bakery
Branding
THE TASK:
To create a name and branding for a bakery and/or café, including the
production and photography of packaging mock-ups.
TECHNIQUE:
I created a quirky business name and logo design, including a play on words that is supported by the logo. My intent was to convey a sense of fun and humour.
THE TOOLS:
Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Camera and photography studio.
Lyrics Poster
THE TASK:
To create a portrait of an individual using song lyrics associated with them to form the outline of their face.
TECHNIQUE:
With permission, I based my design on the fictional Saitama from ONE’s One-Punch Man series. I used the lyrics of the anime’s first season opening to form the artwork from a black and white trace. I emphasised the bold colours of the character’s superhero suit.
THE TOOLS:
Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop.
Icon Design 1
THE TASK:
These are a series of icons I created for an ongoing personal project to make a
custom card game.
TECHNIQUE:
Each icon represents a faction within the game and thus has its own symbol
within a different colour, so that players can easily identify the properties of cards.
THE TOOLS:
Adobe Illustrator.
Icon Design 2
THE TASK:
These are more icons that I created for personal projects and for practice.
TECHNIQUE:
Each icon has a simple, flat design that is meant to either capture the idea
of a subject or represent an overall theme.
THE TOOLS:
Adobe Illustrator.
Illustrations
THE TASK:
These are various illustrations that I have made in my spare time.
TECHNIQUE:
I’m still refining my style, but I love messing around with absurd and quirky
designs — especially animals and other little critters.
THE TOOLS:
Pencil and paper, Artliner, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop.
eBook Illustrations
THE TASK:
To create illustrations for and to produce an eBook aimed at children.
The book should also work in a .pdf format.
TECHNIQUE:
My character designs were inspired by Roger Hargreaves’ Mr. Men series. The characters’ simple yet bold designs and cartoon expressions are easily understandable by children.
I also drew buttons for use on the eBook in the same style as the art.
THE TOOLS:
Pencil and paper, Artliner, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop.
Kefir Branding
THE TASK:
To design the branding for and mock up a kefir brand called ‘Alice’s Probiotic Kefir.
TECHNIQUE:
Since Kefir as a product has only quite recently entered the mainstream, I wanted
a very simple to understand design with a recognisable logo.
THE TOOLS:
Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop.
